Mobile Bay Ferry

The Mobile Bay Ferry sails across the stunning Mobile Bay in Alabama, linking SR 193 at Dauphin Island on the west with SR 180 at Mobile Point on the east. Dubbed “the Gulf-Coast’s Most Scenic Drive,” this ferry ride saves travelers both time and money on fuel by offering a direct route across the mouth of Mobile Bay. The journey from Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island to Fort Morgan at Mobile Point offers fantastic views of the historic forts that have protected Mobile Bay for years. The ride lasts about 40 minutes and is a perfect opportunity for passengers to spot birds, marine life, and other vessels. The ferry service operates two ferries, the Fort Morgan and the Marissa Mae Nicole, to transport passengers and vehicles across the Bay. At least one ferry runs year-round, with both ferries in service during the busy summer season.
