A glistening steel sculpture made of stainless steel plates, Metalmorphosis is nestled within the Class A office campus, Whitehall Corporate Center.
Metalmorphosis consists of 40 steel pieces grouped into 7 segments, independently rotating 360 degrees. The sculpture forms a giant, metal head when the segments are aligned. Metalmorphosis is located within the 200-acre office park development - Whitehall Corporate Center. With its grand plaza, Whitehall Corporate Center presented an opportunity to create something monumental - a sculpture that would inspire both native Charlotteans and visitors alike.
Metalmorphosis was crafted by internationally renowned Czech Sculptor, David Cerny. Cerny's idea for Metalmorphosis was conceived, crafted, and executed from its original concept. His design incorporates a complex infrastructure and choreographed movement on a magnificent scale, creating a beautiful synergy of form and function.
